FAQ

CBW offers you various options: you can pay for just the route and do it by yourself or you can choose the route plus accommodation: in this case we take charge of transporting your luggage to each arrival point.

We also offer the option of transport from either of the nearest airports and train stations (Figueres/Girona/Barcelona) to your starting point.

In addition, only in certain sections you can also opt for a pack with the possibility of combining a walk with another activity (wine tasting, kayaking, scuba diving, etc.).

You can buy all the products we offer on our website. The process is very simple and you just have to follow the indications given.

In case of uncertainty, please contact us, we’re here to help you.

First of all, choose between doing just the track by yourself or the track plus accommodation (transport of luggage included).

Tell us which route you want and the number of nights you want to spend (unless specified at the remarks, it is understood the accommodation is at the point of arrival).

In the process you can also purchase: insurance, picnics, guide service, additional activities, etc. (all will be for the total duration of the route and for all the participants). On the remarks section, let us know if you require of transport from the nearest airports and train stations (Girona/Barcelona) to your starting/destination point.

At the end of the pre-booking process, an approximate budget will be provided.

Continue and provide all your personal information. Make sure you accept our sale conditions before continuing.

Check all the data before sending the request.

Once your reservation is validated you will receive an email with the final budget and a link from where you will be able to proceed with the payment.

For each route or section CBW offer two categories (standard and comfort) on the basis of bed and breakfast in a double room.

The hotels cannot be chosen, but if you’re interested in another basis or room, you only have to tell us before buying the product. Single rooms have a supplement.

For each route or section the level of difficulty is specified on the basis of the distance and height difference of the itinerary. Although everyone is welcome and it is not necessary to be especially fit, you will have to assess the difficulty of the chosen section and decide whether it is appropriate for you.

Our yardstick has been one day per section, but most of them are done in less than half a day.

Since all the arrival points have a special attraction, we believe it’s worthwhile to spend the night there and get to know the surroundings. Therefore, with the information we give you once you’ve bought the product we also tell you about additional itineraries and/or activities that we recommend for each section.

Yes, you decide what section(s) you want to do and what are your start and end points. CBW recommend doing continued sections to complete all the route on foot, but if you decide to do alternate sections we’ll take you to the next start point.

We only offer packs for particular routes and they are closed.

If you have more time than you need to do your route, you can rest in the sections where you’re most interested in exploring the area. In this case you’ll have to tell us so when you make the booking.

Any change, cancellation or abandonment, once the route has started, will not entail any refund.

Yes, as well as the products we’ve already mentioned, when choosing your route CBW also offer you the possibility of drop-off and pick-up at your start and end points, insurance and guide service (both will be for the total duration of the route and for all the participants).

The route of each section is designed to be done from north to south, so regrettably for now we have to say that they can’t be done in reverse. For any query, please contact us and we’ll talk about it.

The coastal paths are ideal for walking at any time of year.

They aren’t mountain paths, but you have to take into account that some sections are stony and have considerable height difference, so you need solid footwear (thick-soled shoes or mountain boots, preferably).

As for clothing, remember that you’ll be alongside the sea, so you’ll have to pay attention to the weather forecast to know what to wear. In addition to comfortable clothing (a technical t-shirt is ideal), it’s a good idea always to have a windbreaker or rain jacket in your backpack.

In addition to footwear and clothing, don’t forget to bring sunscreen, a hat and sunglasses, especially if you’re planning to do the route between May and October, although this is advisable all year round. In all the sections there are fantastic places for swimming, so depending on the time of year it’s best to bring your swimsuit and towel if you want to have a dip and cool off.

Remember that CBW will transport your luggage, so plan to carry only what’s essential to do each section so as to travel as light as possible.

It’s indispensable always to carry food and water; the quantity will depend on the length and difficulty of the section, but you’ll always need to carry some however short or easy the itinerary is. Bear in mind that on some sections – NOT ALL – you’ll find places nearby where you can buy food: find out before starting out in order to avoid unpleasant surprises.

It is strongly recommended to wear good footwear and comfortable clothing and to use good protection from the sun and wind.

Yes, CBW open all year round because any time of year is ideal for discovering the Costa Brava. You’ll only have to bear in mind that the packs we offer are for certain seasons, so they may not be available for certain dates.
If you’re in doubt and want to consult us, please get in touch and we’ll be happy to advise you.

For reservations that require accommodation, both in mid and high season, we recommend making the reservation as far in advance as possible (at least 15 days in advance).

The reservation confirmed with the payment of 25% of the total amount of the reservation must be made at least 1 week before the date of arrival.

Along the Costa Brava coastal path, there are only three beaches where you can take your pet; the rest is prohibited by law and you can be fined should you decide to ignore it.

These beaches are:

* There are some villages that allow access to dogs on the beaches during the winter season. You must consult the legislation in each village (let us know if you need any assistance on this).
